Cinnamon Rolls


Soft and gooey, these cinnamon rolls will fill your house with an amazing aroma. Caramel sauce, crunchy walnuts and cinnamon spice, comfort food for your sugar cravings days.

▶️ Ingredients for dough - 12 rolls


1/2 cup sugar

1 cup warm milk

2 tsp dry yeast

70 gr butter, room temperature

2 large eggs

1 tsp salt

4 cups flour

  1. In a bowl bring together milk, yeast, sugar and butter. Mix well using a balloon whisk and leave to rest for 10 minutes, until the yeast will activate.

  2. Add in the eggs slightly beaten, flour and salt.

  3. Knead the dough using a stand mixer or by hand for 5 minutes.

  4. Transfer on a work surface and shape it into a ball using a splash of oil. Place into a greased bowl, cover with clinging film and let it rise for 1 hour.

▶️ Caramel sauce ingredients


50 gr butter

1/2 cup cream

1/2 cup light brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup pecan or walnuts


  1. Add all ingredients in a sauce pan, cook on medium heat until well combined and sugar dissolved. Set aside to cool.

  2. Roast the walnuts in a pan on low heat until golden and crunchy.


▶️ Filling ingredients


1/4 cup light brown sugar

3 tsp cinnamon


▶️ 1 egg for egg wash

▶️ Shaping the rolls method


  1. When dough has doubled in size, transfer onto a a work surface slightly greased with oil.

  2. Roll out into a 18x14 inch rectangle, then sprinkle the filling on the entire surface.

  3. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 even pieces.

  4. Place them 1 cm apart in a tray lined with parchment paper. Cover with clinging film and leave to rise in a warm place for 30-40 minutes.

  5. When ready brush them with egg-wash, sprinkle some caramels sauce on top of them and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on a preheated oven at 180C/350F/Gas mark 4.

  6. Remove from the oven when ready, set aside to cool for 10 minutes.

  7. Scatter the nuts on top of the remaining caramel, mix roughly and add them on top of the cinnamon rolls.

  8. Serve while fresh with a cup of milk, tea or coffee. Enjoy!
