Sweet Mac and Cheese
This is a childhood dessert, made with some small pasta, fresh cottage cheese, sugar, eggs, a knob of butter and a splash of double cream. We always had it with such joy, the smell is amazing and the taste is mesmerising.
➡️Ingredients
250 gr small pasta ( Ditalini, small pasta shells, etc)
300 gr cottage cheese
2 eggs
100 ml double cream
70 gr sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
50 gr butter
➡️Method
Start by adding your pasta to a pan of boiling salted water and cook according to the packet instructions.
Preheat your oven to 180C/365F/ Gas mark 4.
Meanwhile, add all ingredients in a bowl with 25 gr of butter and give it a good mix until well combined and creamy. Add more sugar to your taste if needed.
Drain the pasta, bring in the cheese mixture and give a good stir.
Add the rest of the butter on top, put the lid on or cover with aluminium foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Serve while fresh!
