Phyllo Crinkle Cake (Muakacha)

This dessert is super simple to make and only comprises easy-to-find ingredients. You don’t have to be a baker to pull off this stunning Crinkle Cake.

🔸Ingredients


1 package phyllo dough, defrosted

100 gr of butter melted

500 gr plain yogurt

250 gr ricotta

3 large eggs

100 gr sugar

2 tsp vanilla extract


🔸Method


  1. Preheat your oven at 180 C/356F/Gas mark 4 and grease with butter a 32 cm x 27 cm baking tray.

  2. Place the crinkled dough, folds facing upwards, into the baking sheet.

  3. Trickle melted butter evenly on top.

  4. Make the filling by combining in a large bowl eggs, sugar, ricotta, yogurt and vanilla extract. Drizzle with more butter on top.

  5. Pour the filling evenly over the folds and bake for 30-40 minutes until crispy and golden.

  6. Serve while hot with double cream! It’s amazing!
